Supported beliefs

Sometimes people ask me "How can I choose to believe in something? If I don't believe in something, there is nothing I can do. Just because I want it to be true, doesn't mean it is and that I can just start believing it."

That's a very good point. But the thing is that you have to give it a try. Try believing it for a day and see if you get some support or confirmation from the universe that what you want to believe is actually true, or at least true for you.

Here is an example: I am afraid of flying. The other day on a flight from Düsseldorf to London I tried to go without medication to see how I would handle it. I soon had to admit to myself that I was not having fun and was quite afraid. I calmed myself down and imagined putting a layer of energetic protection around the plane. That made me feel better. In that moment I chose to believe that I was able to do this and that it was working. When I opened my eyes, I looked out the window. We were on top of a layer of clouds and I noticed the shadow of the plane on the clouds. And around the plane I was able to distinctly make out subtle circles of rainbow light! I think it was just the way the clouds reflected the sunlight, but the visual effect it had on me was astonishing. I took it as a sign from the universe that my belief was supported. The plane was protected and I was going to make it to London safely.

This happens to me quite a bit lately. I choose to start believing in something that "sounds nice" and that I would like to be true, and then shortly thereafter I receive some kind of confirmation from the universe that it is. It's a very powerful and life-changing practice.
