Early inspiration

About a year ago I read the book Splurch.Com. It's a fictional story about a small and short-lived dot com in San Francisco in 1999. Milena, the 38-year-old female CEO of the company, had regular sessions with an energy healer that are described in detail. I remember really enjoying reading about that. I think at that time I was more inspired to go see such a healer than to become one myself. But maybe my subconscious already knew that I was going to be doing something similar in the future.

Here is an excerpt from the book, a slightly comical and exaggerated description of a healing session, that nevertheless planted a seed in me:

Energized

"Imagine that the iron circle surrounding your body is slowly sinking into the earth," intoned Alexis. "Deeper and deeper it sinks."

Milena tried to focus on the energy healer's words.

"You are approaching the molten core. The lava is glowing."

This was Milena's third session with her energy healer. The first sessions had been overwhelmingly enjoyable and productive. For the past few weeks she had felt calmer than she had in months.

"Your iron energy shield is making contact with the glowing lava," said Alexis from her rocking chair in the pleasantly decorated basement room that served as the healing center in her Sunset home. "Your iron circle is beginning to sink into the boiling lava. You are about to connect to the earth's core."

Milena tried to think about connecting to the earth's core, and not about the splurch.com problems that were racing through her brain just like they did when they woke her up every morning at 4:30 am.

"Feel the power of the earth flowing into your body. Feel your tensions flowing out," chanted Alexis.

Milena felt the tension start to leave her body. It was working again. Thank God.

[...]

"Can you feel the tension leaving your body?"

"Yes," whispered Milean. "But it doesn't feel like a totally free flow."

"That's right Milena. There's a block in your flow. A very large block."

"What is it?" asked Milena. "What do you think is blocking me."

"I see a man holding a large amount of money in his hands," said Alexis after a brief pause.

"That would be Tom Samoley," said Milena immediately. "That guy is always making my life difficult."

[...]

"Why don't you remove this man from your life?" questioned Alexis.

"You don't remove the lead investor from your life," sighed Milena. "Especially when you're the CEO of his company."

"I am seeing a past life relationship with Tom Samoley," said Alexis.

[...]

As Alexis began an exploration of Milena's past life struggles with Tom Samoley, Milena felt herself relax. She was continually surprised to discover how much this "different" kind of therapy helped.
