Notes from Trust Your Vibes
For Christmas I received the book Trust Your Vibes by Sonia Choquette. Here are the parts I highlighted in that book.
Synchronicities are not flukes or random events--they're intentional reflections of our intuition working with the perfect order of all things in the unseen world.
You should always interpret your body signals carefully. If you have a bellyache every time you go to work, perhaps it's telling you not to go.
[...] sometimes [the ego] tries to fake you out and make you believe something is spiritually motivated when, in fact, it's only more of the same old ego stuff in disguise.
[...] your sixth sense is very subtle and noninvasive, and even though it's always present, it's very discreet and dignified and will never interrupt or interfere with your internal chatter.
[The universe] takes everything we say as truth and strives to make it so.
[...] when you expose negative energy, it begins to back away because it feeds on darkness and secrecy and can't stand to be brought into the light.
[Thinking positively] is not merely some Pollyanna "stick your head in the sand" philosophy to avoid the real world, as those who are addicted to darkness and despair would suggest.
Your peace won't begin after you heal, but when you agree to heal.
Dwelling on the past is perhaps one of the greatest obstacles to Spirit.
Your vibes are useless if you don't trust them.
More often than not, we've been told that six-sensory living is a gift, special to the selective and freaky few who either hang out in shady storefronts behind crystal balls or show up on late-night infomercials touting their dial-a-psychic hotlines.
Do you know anyone who is both six-sensory and graceful? Someone who is comfortable with their psychic sense and is as normal as you or I?
The best way to identify good six-sensory role models is to perceive who among you are happy and love their life, sure signs that they're using all their senses well.
[...] let life be the next teacher and your mistakes be the exams.
I told [a student] that you can always tell if vibes are reliable by the results they bear: If they're from a higher plane, they'll bring about improvement and closeness to others.
If the message you're receiving is frightening, leaves you feeling uncomfortable, or suggests that its way is the only way, telepathically change the channel immediately because it's definitely not from a Higher Source--and it's a waste of your time.
I see [information about clients] with the help of my teacher guides and those of my clients--together they psychically show me what the clients are here for and what they must focus on to grow and find peace of mind and a fulfilled sense of purpose.
Perhaps one of the greatest distinctions between five-sensory and six-sensory people is that five-sensories worry about how they're going to make it in the world, whereas six-sensories always know that the Universe will be there to help them in every way.
So if two people drive to downtown Chicago on a summer weekend night and one expects to find a parking space and the other doesn't, they'll both be right: The person who expects support will get it, while the one who doesn't, won't.
One common illusion five-sensory folks have about six-sensory people is that we know everything in advance. The truth is that we rarely do, but we don't need to. We know what isn't working now, and we feel and trust that if we follow our inner wisdom, the Universe will take care of us like it does all its beautiful creatures.
[Asking her Higher Self for guidance] would open the way for her to trust her sixth sense and not depend on mine to guide her toward the right answer.
But before you can access [clairvoyance], you must first learn to see what's right in front of your nose, not just what you want to see.
I had another client who, whenever she looked at an overweight person, told herself that he or she must be lazy.
Denial as a from of protection doesn't work.
Clairvoyance develops gradually from accurate observation and solid reason, so the more you objectively observe what's real at the moment, the more you'll intuitively see what will be real in the future.
With clairvoyance, not only will you see what's on the physical plane, but you'll see what's on the energy plane as well.
So remember that when you look from the soul, you look through God's eyes, and God has 20/20 vision in hindsight and foresight.
Laughing doesn't diminish the importance of serious issues in our life--rather, it channels the wisdom to heal them.
The key is to be artful as opposed to being an artist, much like the difference between being psychic and being a psychic.
"I'm not an artist" really means "I'm not someone else's idea of an artist."
Most people want to be generous but may have a hard time doing so because they worry that they don't have enough for themselves, let alone give to anyone else.
The more you empty your cup to share with others, the more your cup will fill, not just materially, but in every way.
You must be willing to trust that you're an infinite soul who will always have everything you need.
