Vera's Soulstice Newsletter

Happy Soulstice, everybody!

Soulstice is a turning point. It marks the end of “some of your life” (thanks for that expression, Michelle!). After this turning point, will your soul feel good or bad? It’s up to you. I recently finished reading There Is Nothing Wrong With You by Cheri Huber (long ago recommended by you, Robin), in which I found a very poignant statement: “If all you’re being is miserable, miserable is not so bad. It’s only when you’re miserable and hating miserable that it’s really hell.” And that’s true for so many things, not just being miserable. In each moment, at each turning point, I can decide to hate something or not. I can hate being too shy to give my business card to an interesting stranger, I can hate that I don’t have a book deal with Chronicle Books yet, I can hate that I’m not rich and famous yet. Or I can NOT hate all of that and feel good anyway. Every day, there are thousands of opportunities, thousands of little turning points, where I can decide to feel good about what I am and what I have, regardless of what I am not or what I don’t have.

Today is soulstice, and this Sunday is the new moon. Since this new moon is so close to soulstice, I encourage you to set an intention for the next six months. What does your soul crave right now? But remember to also set the intention to feel good even if you don’t get what you ask for.

NEW JOB
So yeah, I have been thinking a lot about feeling good and feeling bad. I have also been thinking a lot about money, again. I ran out of money recently, so I started a freelance job. Three days a week I go into an office and do Flash development. It’s not my passion anymore, but it’s fun for now. And it’s nice not to worry about money anymore. Thanks to all of you who helped me realize that all the Flash job offers I was getting were not just an irony, but actual help from the universe.

CERTIFIED AS A COUNSELOR
I recently finished my year-long counseling training with Steve Bearman and am now a certified radical counselor. If you’re interested, Steve is doing the training again starting this fall. I highly recommend it.

I am also eager to practice my new tools. If you would like to talk to me about your life and your dreams and yes, fears, please get in touch. I would love to see what kind of mountains we can move together.

WITCH CAMP
This Sunday, on the new moon, I leave for Witch Camp for a week. It’s near Mendocino. I am going to learn how to drum (!) and learn a lot about magic, shamanism, and about myself. I can’t wait.

So that’s what’s going on in my universe. What is it like in yours?

Bliss,
Vera.
