Spiritual offerings in mainstream places

I recently found an article I found very encouraging: Tarot readings are going mainstream at spas.

"At Juve The Spa in Alpharetta, Ga., patrons can get a metaphysical add-on to any spa service, such as a $100 tarot card reading or a $175 one-hour astrological consultation."

"Everyone's incorporating this stuff in their spa menus. People are still coming for traditional massages and facials, but they're ready to explore something deeper."

"Juve's tarot reader, Tracy Martin, works five days a week with the title of Intuitive. She performs readings at a candlelit table, holding her hands palms up and asking the client to place her hands on them so she can get an energy reading."

"Some people come monthly to talk to Martin, or schedule her for girls-night-out parties."

It would be lovely to work at a spa one day, but what I'm even more interested in is doing sessions at a big corporation, kind of like an employee benefit. If you work for a company with enough employees to make it worthwhile to have an intuitive counselor come in one day a week and do sessions with people, talk to me.

What it's like to do psychic readings with a crystal ball

Last week I offered free cyrstal ball psychic readings at Circo Romani, a gypsy dinner circuls. I bought myself a crystal ball just for this occasion. Look at it - it's beautiful. It even has glitter floating around in it.

My crystal ball

I didn't own a crystal ball before because I thought that a crystal ball was an outdated psychic tool. I thought that contemporary psychics didn't use crystal balls. After all, none of the psychics I know use one. But what I found is that the cyrstal ball is a GREAT psychic tool! And here is why.

One of the most talked-about psychic abilities is clairvoyance. Clairvoyance is literally the ability to see clearly. People with this ability can see things that the physical eye can't. They either see the aura around a person, or they see things inside their head or with their mind's eye. For me, I see things clairvoyantly inside my own mind. It looks exactly the same as when I imagine things. If I close my eyes and think of a place I have been to recently, the way the image of that place appears is the way clairvoyant images appear to me. It really helps to keep my eyes closed, or at least unfocused, during a reading to better access the images with my mind's eye. But the drawback of that method is that it disconnects me from the client. I think that eye contact is very important in any kind of relationship, and if my eyes aren't available because I'm too busy scanning my own mind for images, there is a disconnect between myself and the client.
Luckily there are other ways to get images for the client. There are Tarot cards, for example, which have images already printed on them. They come with a lot of limitations because all the possible images are predetermined. But I have enjoyed doing Tarot readings because they allow my eyes to stay available.
Then there are tea leaves, coffee grinds, etc. which have been read for centuries. I haven't tried any of them but I imagine that they are similar to reading a crystal ball, and I also imagine that they are similar to looking at a blank wall. They all take the place of the "reading screen" for the mind's eye. And looking at these things also allows you to go into the clairvoyant zone to get some insight for your client without having to close your eyes. And, unlike Tarot cards, you can see anything in them, not just predetermined images.

That's why using a crystal ball is such an effective tool! I don't have to become distant and close my eyes, but I am able to focus on it for as long as I need to while receiving images for the client. The images usually appear on the ball itself. My crystall ball has some quartz stones inside, and during a reading, a certain shape of one of the quartzes will then take on an image for me that means something to the client. And sometimes I don't see any images, but looking at the ball can invoke other psychic impulses, such as to ask the client a certain question.

It was really a great experience to use the crystal ball as a psychic tool. I spent about five minutes with each person that saw me at Circo Romani, usually focusing on one particular area of their life. I felt that I was able to give each person information that was very applicable to them, and almost every one of them left with a big smile on their face.

The truth in strategic places

I am reading the book Your Heart's Desire by Sonia Choquette right now. It was a Christmas present (off of my wishlist) from my sister.

Chapter 2 titled Gain the Support of Your Subconscious Mind inspired me to do the following:

I took some of my heart-shaped post-its, wrote things on them that I want to be true and put them in strategic places.

I put this one in the lobby where I keep my purse.
I am prosperous

I put this one on the monitor of my computer.
I am successful

I put this one on my dresser.
I am sexy

I put this one in my reading and counseling area.
I am psychic

I put this one on my bathroom mirror.
I am radiant

Heart-shaped post-its are a lot of fun.

Vera's Friendship Newsletter #2

Hello friends,

The friendship theme still fits; I couldn't think of a theme that fits better, so we're stuck with friendship one more time.

I just found out that in Finland, Valentine's Day is called ystävänpäivä, which means 'friend's day'. It is more about celebrating your love for friends than your love for lovers. Perfect! That's exactly what Psychic Valentines are about.

PSYCHIC VALENTINES
A friend of mine told me today that he was kind of confused about what a Psychic Valentine is. So let me explain: A Psychic Valentine is a Valentine's greeting you can send to a friend. Your friend will receive something similar to an animated greeting card. But the greeting also includes a gift certificate for psychic advice via email. After receiving the Psychic Valentine, your friend can email me a question for psychic advice or insight. An example of a question might be "I don't like my job, but I don't know what else I should or can do instead – do you have any insight?" And you bet that I do. I will respond to your friend's question promptly. I have gotten some great feedback from people who have received email advice, so I am confident that it works.

And if you have your own website and would like to support me, please put a Psychic Valentines button on your website and link it to http://www.dragonflypsychic.com/valentine/. You can download the button here:

I am learning a lot of Finnish these days, by the way. I almost know all the animals now. I am working on colors next.

The other weekend during my counseling training (Interchange), we did this awesome meditation that really inspired me. I am trying to recreate that experience on Monday, February 13.

LAUGHING AND CRYING MEDITATION
It's a meditation that is based on and an abbreviated version of Osho's Mystic Rose meditation. The meditation lasts for one hour, and this is how we spend that hour: For the first twenty minutes we laugh, then for twenty minutes we cry, and finally we spend twenty minutes sitting in silence with eyes closed.

At the end of it, I felt the ultimate bliss and contentment. I think it's because my being had achieved balance. After enacting joy and then enacting sadness, I was left feeling perfectly balanced and at peace. For a long time I have felt that "balance is everything," that balance is the key to the universe. This meditation guarantees to achieve balance.

Because I enjoyed it so much, I want to share it with the world. So I am offering in San Francisco a safe space for experiencing the laughing and crying meditation--for free!

Here are the details:

When: Monday, Feb. 13, 7:30pm-9:30pm
Where: SpiralMuse Home of WellBeing, 3387 22nd Street (@ Guerrero), San Francisco, CA
Why: So we can balance and heal
Cost: Free!

More info here.

Please let me know if you are coming.

Finally—I almost sent this letter out on Tuesday but didn't, and now I know why. Thanks to Amy Leblanc for mentioning this event on her blog, I will be offering FREE crystal ball psychic readings at Circo Romani, a Gypsy Dinner Circus.

Good vibes symbol

My mom likes to be expressive in emails, using exclamation points and smileys. For a while now she has been wishing me "good vibes" at the end of her emails, except she did this in German so what she really said was "gute Schwingungen." At one point recently she said she wished there was a way to say "good vibes" with a smiley. So we came up with one. Here is the "good vibes" smiley we decided on: ~~) I encourage you to use it too.
