Vera's Going Places Newsletter

Hi everybody!

The other day a guy got into my taxi and said "Thanks so much for stopping. I was waiting for the bus but it wasn't coming, and now I'm late." I said "I guess I was in the right place at the right time." We then proceeded to talk about how being in the right place at the right time is what it's all about. You don't need education, money, looks, manipulation, or even connections to go places and to get what you want. You just need to be in the right place at the right time. That brings me to YOU. I would love to hear a story about when YOU were in the right place at the right time. Do you have one?

TAXI UPDATE
I drive a taxi for DeSoto Cab now. I drive on Mondays and Fridays from 4am to 2pm . If you ever need a taxi during those times, especially if you are going to the airport, please call me on my cell phone: 415.846.4482

CELEBRATE MY BIRTHDAY WITH ME
In a little less than two weeks, on Friday, May 5, I am turning 30. YAY! My mom's due date was actually two weeks earlier, on April 21st, but I decided to stay inside just a little longer because I wanted to be born on 5/5. To celebrate my proud age of 30, I will be at Yerba Buena Gardens (www.yerbabuenagardens.com/maps.html) from 3pm to sunset for some hooping and other fun in the sun. That's Friday, May 5, 3pm to sunset (~8pm). Please stop by and say hi. I would love to see you.

EUROPE TRIP
Then, two days after my birthday, Antti and I are going to Finland and Germany for two weeks! I have never been to Finland and am V ERY excited. And while in Germany , I'll be going to my 10-year school reunion to see what all my former classmates are up to.

That's all for now!
Bliss,
Vera.

Notes from Creating Money

After I quit my 9 to 5 job, I read the book Creating Money by Sanaya Roman and Duane Packer. Here are the parts I highlighted in that book:

You will be reprogramming your subconscious mind to accept these thoughts as reality, and as it does it will create changes in your life to match this new inner reality.

Situations and objects will come into your life simultaneously with your need for them.

[...] we want you to recognize that you do not have to stay in jobs that do not serve you.

The man-made laws of money include financial planning, time management, cash flow management, marketing, taxes, and business planning.

You can create money with the spiritual laws alone.

Let your prosperity be based on the amount of good you contribute to the world.

Beliefs in scarcity help create your wars and the taking of more than is needed from the earth.

You are the source of your riches, not your job, your investments, your spouse, or your parents.

If you think what you want is too far away or hard to get, your intent is not clear.

If you think that having more money will give you inner peace, allowing the quality of inner peace into your life is your key to becoming magnetic to more money.

The universe doesn't say you can have what is good for you only after you make a million dollars.

Security does not come from accumulating wealth.

If you have a feeling of security within, you will be able to create a life that reflects that feeling.

A million dollars might not seem real to you, particularly if you have trouble imagining yourself paying your rent easily and on time each month.

You can magnetize out of neediness, but it dilutes your effectiveness.

When you are focused upon serving or assisting people you are very magnetic.

When you get an idea, don't over-analyze it, asking "Is this idea going to create my new path, be profitable, or support me for the rest of my life?"

If you do what is joyful, you may find that all the jobs you are forcing yourself to do to make money are no longer necessary. You will also discover that you make more money in the long run by doing what you love than by doing things you don't love.

True success is having the right amount of money, transforming an old habit or negative belief, releasing a fear, doing things you love, and developing and recognizing your special talents.

You may be acting as if you are waiting for some invisible "parent" or ouside authority to decide whether or not you can have what you want.

Beliefs are assumptions about the nature of reality, and because you create what you believe in, you will have many "proofs" that reality operates the way you think it does.

[...] a person who believes that money comes only from working hard will receive money only from hard work.

In some way those beliefs were perfect for you to have earlier in your life, leading you to the appropriate lessons and growth you needed to achieve more of your potential.

When money is not flowing it may be time to start new activities that you have been wanting to do.

Act as if you have the money for whatever you want.

Trust is the link between the mental world and the physical world.

If you feel you can't live without something, that your well-being is dependent upon your having it, you actually repel what you desire.

The degree to which you are open and loving is the degree to which miracles will come your way.

As you treat others with love and compassion, you draw to yourself opportunities, money, people, miracles, and even more love.

When you are determined to have something only through a certain source, you cut off all other ways it can come to you.

Even if it doesn't appear that there will be more money in doing what you love, trust your heart and follow your higher path, for there will eventually be much more money and abundance from following this path than any other.

Your life's work may not yet exist as a job you can find. It may be a job you will create.

A job you previously enjoyed may now be routine or something you do because you need the money, not because you love it.

You don't need to totally change your life; you can create your life's work gradually, one step at a time.

You can design your future by being alert and aware of opportunities, knowing when to take action and when not to.

Begin now to affirm that you will be in the right place at the right time. Keep that thought in mind, and trust that your feelings of joy or resistance are helping you create this as a truth.

Some of you accept money only for doing jobs you don't like, and feel guilty asking for money for your special talents and services.

It is often threatening to people close to you when you choose to grow or change. They fear a loss of your love.

If you have well-meaning friends who tell you that something is hard to do or can't be done, realize that they are only showing you your own doubts, mirroring them back to you so you may become more aware of them and let them go.

If you keep telling yourself why you can't have what you want, you won't have it.

When you are no longer enjoying what you are doing, it is a sign that something new is needed. If this is so, developing the new will bring you more abundance than holding on to the old.

If it is time to make changes but you are reluctant to let go of the old, your soul will help you by creating circumstances in which the old no longer works.

You can decide how much discontent and dissatisfaction motivates you to act on your inner messages.

I let go easily, trusting that nothing leaves my life unless something better is coming.

Ask yourself if the process of studying and learning sounds joyful.

Remember that the more money circulates, the wealthier everyone is, just as the more times inventory turns over, the more prosperous a store becomes.

Every time you send out your money with joy and love, you open another way for the universe to send you money.

Buy one good outfit that you feel wonderful wearing, rather than several less expensive ones that you don't really like.

People feel good about themselves when they give you something that you can use and appreciate.

Imagine ten times the amount of money someone gives you coming back to them every time you receive money.

Affirm that you will receive money from whatever source the universe uses to give it to you, and the universe will find more ways to give you money.

People create lack in their lives to learn certain lessons.

Money comes when you put your attention into what you are giving to the world rather than thinking only of the money your work will bring you.

The greatest gift you give others is the example of your own life working.

You often defend most vigorously those beliefs and values you aren't really sure about, for when you are clear about your beliefs you rarely feel the need to defend them.

As society begins to believe that there can be abundance for everyone, new discoveries will be made that will provide unlimited energy and resources that do not pollute or deplete the earth, and there will be fewer reasons for war.

It is not more spiritual to be poor, nor is it better to be rich.

What is important is having enough money to do the work you came to do, and not having so much that it keeps you from the work you came to do.

There is an unlimited supply of success.

Those who do not make money or experience abundance are usually those who think they have to work at jobs they don't like until they have enough money saved to do work they like.

Creating abundance will require that you let go of any remaining beliefs that money and objects are hard to create, because they aren't.

The contents of my dream box

In the "Surrender Control" chapter in the book Your Heart's Desire, Sonia Choquette talks about creating an alchemy box as a symbol for what your heart is desiring. The idea is that you put your intentions into that box and then put it away so that your intentions can alchemize into physical reality.

A couple of weeks ago I created my own alchemy box. I prefer to call it my dream box because it holds symbols for all of my dreams.

Here are pictures of all of the things I put in my box to represent the things that are important to me right now.

I put in miniature versions of all the books I want to publish. I even put the Chronicle Books logo on the back of each of them because I want Chronicle Books to publish them.

I put in a roll of film so I will take beautiful photography.

I put in a "color palette" from a recent painting so I will make more awesome paintings.

I put in one of my business cards so lots of clients and business will be drawn to me.

I put in a dragonfly ring so that the power of the dragonfly will always be with me.

I put in a miniature magazine with all the magazine contributions I want to make so that they will happen.

I put in a miniature translated children's book so that I will translate children's book from German to English or English to German.

I put in a picture of me modeling so that I will be asked to model again.

I put in a one million dollar bill so that I will always have money for all the things I need.

I put in a condom for healthy sex.

I put in a hair accessory for healthy hair.

I put in a toothbrush for healthy teeth.

If YOU made a dream box, what would be in YOUR box?

Notes from Your Heart's Desire

My sister gave me the book Your Heart's Desire by Sonia Choquette for Christmas, and I recently finished it. Here are the parts I highlighted in it:

I felt I was failing to do my job correct if I was merely forecasting failure, not counseling toward success.

As I studied, I began to understand that awareness was the hidden key to success.

Remember that joy is found in creating, not in having.

[...] make a conscious choice to be receptive to experiencing your dream with each breath you take from this moment forward.

You need to protect your dreams by removing yourself from all nonsupportive influences, such as critical, jealous, or negative friends, abusive associations, and cynics who have hardened their hearts.

If your desire is prosperity, then remove yourself from poverty-minded people and circumstances in your path.

People mistakenly believe that their dreams need the approval of the people they love in order to manifest.

You can only be who you really are, and only you can give yourself permission to express it.

Pregnancy was simply a mechanical process to her.

She quit her job, started working freelance out of her home, and is now the mother of a beautiful baby boy.

As we begin to control our minds and believe in ourselves, we reawaken to the truth that we are spiritual beings and that, as such, Divine consciousness is constantly seeking ways to express itself through us.

If people cannot intellectually perceive answers, they rule out the possibility of answers existing.

You never know if you might not be asking an angel.

He played games with himself over what he chose to eat, reasoning, "I was good all week, so I just had to have a tiny reward."

Simply choose to let people know who you are, and let the Universe take care of the rest.

It's better to be honest and trust that people can adjust their needs if they must when you allow yourself to follow your heart.

You will help people far more by being true to yourself and living your dream than by being angry, bitter, and resentful.

In the second year she paid off her old debts, moved to a beautiful apartment, and was asked to be an outside consultant for a holistic health center as an intuitive diagnostician.

That is the secret of charisma--loving what you are doing so much that there is no drag, no resistance, no negativity, in your energy field.

[...] sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is nothing!

Faith comes as easily as breathing if you search for it through the eyes of your soul.

Your words are the full transference of your energy from psychic to physical expression. They are indeed the magic wand of creativity.

The amazing part is that in reality, creating illness, disappointment, and poverty takes much more effort than creating success.

It's always tempting to the ego to use intellectual knowledge to tell someone else how to create, because it is a convenient distraction from the work of creating your own happiness. This kind of effort doesn't create a thing for others or for you and therefore doesn't show up on the physical plane.

Keep your dreams protected by silence.

Stop defending your pain and disappointment with your words.

They say artists starve, actors wait tables, and writers can't survive.

Postcard

I designed a new postcard to advertise my services. But I'm feeling hesitant about having my face float all over town. Does anybody have any feedback? If you found this postcard somewhere, would you want to talk to me?

Notes from Trust Your Vibes

For Christmas I received the book Trust Your Vibes by Sonia Choquette. Here are the parts I highlighted in that book.

Synchronicities are not flukes or random events--they're intentional reflections of our intuition working with the perfect order of all things in the unseen world.

You should always interpret your body signals carefully. If you have a bellyache every time you go to work, perhaps it's telling you not to go.

[...] sometimes [the ego] tries to fake you out and make you believe something is spiritually motivated when, in fact, it's only more of the same old ego stuff in disguise.

[...] your sixth sense is very subtle and noninvasive, and even though it's always present, it's very discreet and dignified and will never interrupt or interfere with your internal chatter.

[The universe] takes everything we say as truth and strives to make it so.

[...] when you expose negative energy, it begins to back away because it feeds on darkness and secrecy and can't stand to be brought into the light.

[Thinking positively] is not merely some Pollyanna "stick your head in the sand" philosophy to avoid the real world, as those who are addicted to darkness and despair would suggest.

Your peace won't begin after you heal, but when you agree to heal.

Dwelling on the past is perhaps one of the greatest obstacles to Spirit.

Your vibes are useless if you don't trust them.

More often than not, we've been told that six-sensory living is a gift, special to the selective and freaky few who either hang out in shady storefronts behind crystal balls or show up on late-night infomercials touting their dial-a-psychic hotlines.

Do you know anyone who is both six-sensory and graceful? Someone who is comfortable with their psychic sense and is as normal as you or I?

The best way to identify good six-sensory role models is to perceive who among you are happy and love their life, sure signs that they're using all their senses well.

[...] let life be the next teacher and your mistakes be the exams.

I told [a student] that you can always tell if vibes are reliable by the results they bear: If they're from a higher plane, they'll bring about improvement and closeness to others.

If the message you're receiving is frightening, leaves you feeling uncomfortable, or suggests that its way is the only way, telepathically change the channel immediately because it's definitely not from a Higher Source--and it's a waste of your time.

I see [information about clients] with the help of my teacher guides and those of my clients--together they psychically show me what the clients are here for and what they must focus on to grow and find peace of mind and a fulfilled sense of purpose.

Perhaps one of the greatest distinctions between five-sensory and six-sensory people is that five-sensories worry about how they're going to make it in the world, whereas six-sensories always know that the Universe will be there to help them in every way.

So if two people drive to downtown Chicago on a summer weekend night and one expects to find a parking space and the other doesn't, they'll both be right: The person who expects support will get it, while the one who doesn't, won't.

One common illusion five-sensory folks have about six-sensory people is that we know everything in advance. The truth is that we rarely do, but we don't need to. We know what isn't working now, and we feel and trust that if we follow our inner wisdom, the Universe will take care of us like it does all its beautiful creatures.

[Asking her Higher Self for guidance] would open the way for her to trust her sixth sense and not depend on mine to guide her toward the right answer.

But before you can access [clairvoyance], you must first learn to see what's right in front of your nose, not just what you want to see.

I had another client who, whenever she looked at an overweight person, told herself that he or she must be lazy.

Denial as a from of protection doesn't work.

Clairvoyance develops gradually from accurate observation and solid reason, so the more you objectively observe what's real at the moment, the more you'll intuitively see what will be real in the future.

With clairvoyance, not only will you see what's on the physical plane, but you'll see what's on the energy plane as well.

So remember that when you look from the soul, you look through God's eyes, and God has 20/20 vision in hindsight and foresight.

Laughing doesn't diminish the importance of serious issues in our life--rather, it channels the wisdom to heal them.

The key is to be artful as opposed to being an artist, much like the difference between being psychic and being a psychic.

"I'm not an artist" really means "I'm not someone else's idea of an artist."

Most people want to be generous but may have a hard time doing so because they worry that they don't have enough for themselves, let alone give to anyone else.

The more you empty your cup to share with others, the more your cup will fill, not just materially, but in every way.

You must be willing to trust that you're an infinite soul who will always have everything you need.
