Dear fellow seekers,

I would like to remind everyone who is going through a hard time right now (including myself because I am too!) that the darkest night is always followed by the most beautiful dawn. If you are suffering from the winter blues or winter anxiety or winter boredom or winter anything, just know that you are preparing yourself for something really awesome coming up in the future. I invite you to think back and recall the hardest times you have ever experienced. Were they not immediately followed by some of the best times of your life? Just know that you are doing some very important work right now, and that what you are going through is setting the stage for the good times that lie ahead. Sometimes, when I notice just how hard things are for me right now, I get really excited about the future because boy, I must be preparing some good stuff.

CREATIVITY CIRCLE
I am looking to start a creativity circle on Tuesday evenings in SF. I envision us meeting every week to talk about our creative projects. These projects can be anything from knitting a pair of underpants to that film script you want to write. Having a creativity circle will provide support, encouragement and ideas, and it will also hold us accountable to our visions. With other creative people to talk to on a regular basis, we will be able to make things happen that would take a lot longer by ourselves. The circle will be a constant source of re-inspiration. I have discovered lately that a one-time inspiration often isn't enough--I have to keep getting re-inspired in order to really make things happen.

This is exciting to me for four reasons:
1) Ariel's excitement is palpable and contagious, and I am super happy for her.
2) I love her writing style and am excited to get to read a whole book full of her writing.
3) Fuck taffeta (her words, not mine!).
4) The last reason is selfish: I believe that the people around you are mirrors of parts of yourself. So, having a friend who just published a book means to me that I am a big step closer to publishing my own book. That makes me very excited. And I encourage YOU to consider this: What do your friends' accomplishments say about your own potential?
