This could be you and I

I came across an inspiring person and website this morning.

Dane writes on his About page:

I'd like to share a few things about my life which led me to decide to offer this service. As you read these words some of you will feel tired, bitter, angry or cynical. I still have those feelings at times when reading words like the ones I will be sharing with you. These feelings are a natural by-product of desiring something we do not believe is possible for us. Or which we believe is possible only through taking advantage of others.

He then goes on to say that he now regularly makes $500 an hour that his clients gladly pay him for work he loves. Even though I have never made $500 an hour, I did not feel tired, bitter, angry or cynical yet. But I did feel tired, bitter, angry or cynical when I read that he was making "millions" these days. I have to admit that that sounds unattainable for me right now and thus elicits negative feelings in me.

For some of the work I do I get paid a higher hourly rate than many of my friends. When I tell my friends "If I can do this, so can you", they often don't believe me, much like I don't believe I can ever make $500 an hour like Dane.

I am here to remind us all that it is attainable for all of us. If he can do it, so can I. If I can do it, so can you. Keep the faith.
